TEACHING IS CONDUCTED IN ARMENIAN, RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH.

Entrance requirements

Applicants to Yerevan State Medical University must have secondary or secondary professional education. The applicant is enrolled in the 1st year of the study having successfully passed two of the following entrance test exams (based on applicant’s choice): Physics, Chemistry, Biology. The exams are conducted within the framework of the secondary school exam program. Those applicants having failed the entrance examinations can enrol in the Department of foreign students’ preparatory education.

In certain cases, the tuition fee is defined in accordance with the Contract signed between the student and YSMU.

Note:

 

  • The duration of studies in the clinical residency is 1-4 years depending on the specialty.
  • The tuition fee of the international clinical residents in the English Language goes as follows:

For international citizens graduated from YSMU – 2 400 000 AMD per annum;

For international citizens graduated from other universities – 2 900 000 AMD per annum.

  • Information on daily exchange rate is available at the webpage of the Central Bank of Armenia. Follow the link cba.am.
  • The annual tuition remains unchanged for the whole period of education.
  • Accommodation is provided at the University Hostel. The hostel room houses 2 or 3 people.
  • The student shall be insured every year by a Medical Insurance Company.
  • A contract between the student and the university must be compiled.
  • In exceptional cases the tuition of international students can as well be defined in accordance with contracts signed with them.

Required documents: 

  • Filled-in application (download);
  • Filled-in application-questionnaire (download);
  • Statement of good health (can be done by medical facilities in Republic of Armenia);
  • Copy of the passport;
  • For Diaspora Armenians: a copy of birth certificate or a copy of baptism certificate verified by a notary;
  • Copies of the graduation certificates (10th and 12th classes) with the grades, translated and verified by the Notary. In case the applicant comes from a country party to the Apostille Convention, the 12th class graduation certificate should be certified by an Apostille;
  • 4 photos (size 3×4);
  • CV;

For the postgraduate education programme, an essay on the chosen major topic in Armenian, Russian, or English (approx. 20 pages).

Note:

  • The copies of the school documents shall be notarized and the original High School Diploma shall be endorsed with an Apostille if the applicant is a citizen of a country acceded to the Apostille Convention. If the applicant’s country has not acceded to the Apostille Convention, the applicant shall authenticate the original High School Diploma in the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Armenia to the given country. If there is no Embassy/Consulate of RA in the applicant’s country the High School Diploma shall be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA.
  • In case of incomplete package of documents submitted by the applicant, the documents will not be examined. 

The procedure for submitting the required documents 

The applicant, or his authorized person, or a representative of the educational institution must submit the documents required by the above paragraphs (1-9) to the Department of External Relations and Diaspora of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia (https://escs.am/en/news/22744) or send the electronic versions of the required documents within the prescribed time to the email address: secretariat@escs.am.

During the period of assessment of knowledge, the applicant or his authorized person or a representative of the educational institution must present to the Department of External Relations and Diaspora of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia the originals of the documents required by paragraphs 1-9, which previously were sent to the Ministry’s e-mail address.

According to the deadlines for submission of documents, the applications and documents are accepted at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia on working days from 10:00 to 17:00, break – from 13:00 to 14:00.

Deadlines for application submission and entrance examinations 

Application period: 17.06.2024-27.09.2024

Admission exams period: until 04.10.2024

Application period to Preparatory Department: 17.06.2024-27.09.2024

Applicants who wish to undergo preparatory course (testing of English language and oral knowledge evaluation of basic subjects) must apply to the Department of Foreign Students’ Preparatory Education of the University until September 20, 2024.

THE SCHEDULE OF 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR ENTRANCE EXAMS FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS

Those applicants who have applied their documents to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA until 27th of September can take the exams by the following schedule:

Notes:

  • If the applicant has chosen Chemistry and Physics as examination subjects, the exam in Chemistry will be organized at 2nd of October.
  • Applicant needs to come to YSMU 30 minutes before starting of exams and be in the territory of courtyard of the University until he/she will be invited to the exam.
  • An applicant must have an identity document, a regular (non-gel) blue pen, pencil; a calculator is allowed for calculations.
  • The presence of the applicant at the results’ announcement is necessary.

Rules for entrance exams

After submitting an application and documents for admission to YSMU, the applicant must read “THE RULES OF ENTRANCE EXAMS FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS”, and then complete the “APPLICANT’S QUESTIONNAIRE”

The topics of subjects of admission examinations for foreign citizens

The graduates of General Medicine faculty are awarded the qualification of MD Physician. Specialization: General Medicine.

The qualification Doctor of Stomatology is conferred to the graduates of Stomatology faculty. Specialization: Stomatology.

The graduates of the Pharmacy faculty acquire a qualification of Master of Pharmacy. Specialization: Pharmacy.

Attention to the Indian applicants!

According to the decision of the Government of India and the Medical Council of India (MCI), as well as the Press Note posted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 22 February 2018: http://www.pib.nic.in/PressReleaseIframePage.aspx?PRID=1521436#.Wo621, NEET qualification is mandatory for the applicants from India applying to overseas universities for MBBS course. Hence, Yerevan State Medical University announces that admission to YSMU is not permitted without having NEET qualification.

Attention to the Sri Lankan applicants!

Following the requirements of the Medical Council of Sri Lanka, the citizens of Sri Lanka must pass three entrance test exams: Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

This is to inform the citizens of Sri Lanka that the right of representing YSMU, spreading information about the University, as well as recruiting applicants is granted only to DR. TIKIRITHANTRI MAHASAMELAGE CHINTHAKA PRASAD GUNASEKARA and those doctors acting under his supervision. Any individual or agency from other countries is not authorized to represent YSMU and recruit applicants in Sri Lanka.
