Education at YSMU
At YSMU, education is conducted in various disciplines with bachelor’s, master’s, integrated programs, as well as in residency and PhD programs. YSMU offers one bachelor’s program, three integrated, and five masters’ academic programs.

***Postgraduate medical education is conducted through residency for State approved professions, encompassing over 80 specialties. Continuous and additional (narrow) professional education is also organized for doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nursing professionals.
The academic year is divided into two semesters.
The first academic semester commences on September 1 and ends in December-January. Exams for students in their first to third years take place in January, while those in higher years are organized during the semester. The second semester starts at the beginning of February and ends in May-June. Students in their first to third years take the summer exams in June, while those in senior years take exams during the semester. Practical training is conducted during the summer vacation.
