In order to obtain an entry permit (visa) for international students invited to study in the Republic of Armenia, YSMU shall apply to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia. The applicant can get an entry permit at the Embassy of Armenia in his/her country. The Embassy shall issue a one-time student entry permit to the student.
In the absence of an RA Embassy in the applicant’s country, the applicant can obtain an entry permit at the RA consulate of another country, the information on which the applicant can obtain from the University. After obtaining the status of a student in Armenia, the student shall be granted a residence status free of charge for a period of 1 year. The permission of students’ parents and relatives to arrive in Armenia shall be carried out through the Passport and Visa Department of the RA, based on the student’s application.
All international students of YSMU should have medical insurance in the Republic of Armenia. The annual cost of insurance constitutes 70.000 AMD.
The University hostels with 3 corpuses are in Kanaker-Zeytun district. Students can reside in the hostels despite their gender, age, nationality and religion.
All hostel rooms are equipped with furniture.
Up to 3 students can reside in the hostel rooms. In Corpus №1 kitchens, bathrooms and toilets are in both wings of the floors. Also there are communal laundry facilities on the first floor of the corpus.
Students are provided with breakfast in the comfortable dining hall lying on the first floor of the hostels. The computer room is provided with free internet access.
There is a park and a playground in the vicinity of the hostel. There is a round-the-clock medical center there. There are also reading halls and halls for holding different events and meetings.
One hostel room costs 90.000 AMD per month which shall be divided among roommates. 2 or 3 students can reside in one room.
There are comfort rooms likewise that cost 120.000 AMD per month. This cost shall also be divided among roommates.
Students can reside in the hostels despite their gender, age, nationality and religion.

The Transfer Procedure from University to University
In order to get transferred to YSMU from another HEI, within 2 weeks before and after each semester the student, who is a citizen of another country, should submit his/her Academic Transcript approved by his/her university, the Graduation Certificate on Secondary Education, passport and the licence and accreditation of the university.
In accordance with the established procedure, transfer to YSMU in the first and last years is not permitted.
