Department of Spine Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology

History

Since 2017, the Yerevan-based Wigmore Clinic has a department of pediatric orthopedics and traumatology.

 In 2018, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Wigmore Clinic and Yerevan State Medical University, according to which from then on clinical residents could be trained at Wigmore Clinic. In 2020, the Department of Spine Surgery and Pediatric Orthopedics, Traumatology of YSMU was founded.

At the premises of the Wigmore Clinic and the Muratsan University Hospital Complex, postgraduate specialized training of clinical residents in the specialties of pediatric orthopedics, traumatology and spine surgery is carried out.

The training program for clinical residents is aimed at acquiring knowledge on the diagnosis of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the treatment of the entire spectrum of diseases in the area in both conservative and surgical methods.

Main spheres of activity

    • Spine diseases – deformities, congenital anomalies
    • Bone diseases, muscle and ligament apparatus diseases
    • Neuro-orthopedics – cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, hereditary neuromuscular diseases
    • Traumatology
    • Study of gait pathologies, based on the Gait Analysis Laboratory
