Education
In the school, there are 7 pedagogical methods implemented, including guidance and counseling methods, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process and academic achievement.
The vice-principals oversee the school’s educational programs, and the pedagogical staff is made up of competent, skilled instructors who have taken part in numerous trainings, received numerous state prizes, and hold special and scientific titles.
49 teachers work in the school, four of them hold a PhD degree in science.
In the academic year 2021-2022, 23 teachers were involved in the voluntary assessment process. Fourteen of them received additional fees based on different criteria.
Three teachers have been recognized as winners of the “Best Teacher” competition at different times.
Since January 2017, the “Heratsi” high school of YSMU has served as a mentor school for the secondary schools of Tretuk, Kutakan villages of Gegharkunik region of RA, and secondary school of Azatek village of Vayots Dzor region of RA. This support is provided as part of the “Support to Rural Schools” program of the RA Ministry of Education and Culture of RA.
The school’s students actively compete in the academic school olympiads and achieve good marks on both the national and international stages.
The school has additional classes in Human Anatomy and Physiology. In collaboration with the Embassy of Germany in the Republic of Armenia and in partnership with Goethe Institute German DSD (German language) course is implemented.
The protection of research work is carried out by students of the school, who have achieved significant results over the years, including participation in the AESA International Scientific Olympiad. The organization of research work is carried out in various scientific institutions, and it also involves non-professional experts. The school cooperates with local and international organizations implementing educational programs. For students, classes are organized in civic education, which ensures the formation of a civic identity as an integral part of a comprehensive educational system.
In the school, there are various literary clubs such as “Vernatun”, as well as debate, patriotic, and environmental clubs. Students are involved in solving community issues through implementing various programs and volunteer work.
With the aim of navigating the choice of career, the school conducts classes, informative and motivating visits, meetings with professionals, and cultural events. It also focuses on solving social and psychological problems, promoting civic activism, fostering a sense of national identity, preserving health, and ensuring the continuous development of personal skills and qualities.
The participation of students in various extracurricular activities is one of the effective methods of practical education. Every year, the school organizes a variety of extracurricular events, including art exhibitions of students’ works, cultural performances, visits to medical institutions, excursions, socially vulnerable families, and rural communities.
Education in the school is free, and various extracurricular activities are organized, including the presentation and sale of students’ handicrafts, artistic performances, visits to medical institutions, and social events for disadvantaged families and rural communities. Education in the school is provided in the Armenian language.
