World Health Organization recognizes YSMU as the only RA state medical university which is involved in the World Directory of Medical Schools. YSMU is recognized by different medical councils of many countries.

In the fields of higher medical education and healthcare YSMU has established close cooperative links with different medical universities, healthcare and international organizations of many countries. YSMU has been a member of a number of international organizations.

As a result of international cooperation, many exchange programs have been established for students and staff members. Many students shall undergo short-term practice in international hospitals, which, in the current era of generalization, undoubtedly shall contribute to the educating of leading specialists.

The authorities of YSMU, strongly emphasizing the necessity of international cooperation and evaluating its long-term effectiveness as appropriate, shall conclude and re-conclude various cooperation agreements with the prestigious universities of Europe, Central Asia and the USA.
