Research interests

The intensity of lipid and protein oxidation processes under the short term noise action (2 hr, 91 dBA level noise), investigate the morphofunctional shifts in immunogenetic organs, structural changes and physico-chemical properties of biomembranes.

Reveal the possible new mechanisms of action of α2-adrenoblocker beditin synthesized in FOCL for the first time and effects of 91 dBA level noise, α-adrenoblockers (beditin, idazoxan and mesedin) mutual effects of noise and α-adrenoblockers on the intensity of lipid peroxidation processes, oxidative modification of the proteins, α-tocopherol content, the quantitative and qualitative composition of phosphoinositides of membranes in white rat tissues.

Study the effects of α2-adrenoblocker mesedin and beditin on the cellular level in different pathological states and models of some genetic diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease.

Completed and ongoing projects

2003-2005 Determination of α-tocoferol content in plasma white rates, the activity of ascorbate-dependent LPO (ADPL-nonenzymathic) system in white rates` membranes by determination of malonyl dialdehyde accumulation, at norm and at short term noise influence (2 hr, 91dBA noise).YSMU, Armenia

2005-2006 Influence of noise on content of membrane individual phospholipids (phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl serine, sphingomyelines, mono-, di-, try-phosphoinositides, lysophosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl choline) YSU and YSMU, Armenia

2006-2007 Determination of protective action of α2-adrenoblocker beditin on lipid oxidation processes under the short term noise action. YSMU, Armenia

2007-2009 Study the intensity of proteins oxidative modification in serum of experimental animals under the administration of two α-adrenoblockers (beditin, idazoxan), acute acoustic stress conditions and mutual influence of α-adrenoblockers and noise. YSMU, Armenia

2009-2011 Investigation of the morphofunctional shifts in immunogenetic organs (thymus, lymph nodes, spleen) under the short term noise conditions. YSMU, Armenia

2012-2015 Study of physico-chemical parameters of white rat erythrocyte membranes under the condition of acoustic stress. YSMU, Armenia

2012-2015 Study of long term noise Influence on intensity of lipid and protein oxidation processes in blood, on the morphology of immunogenetic organs, on physico-chemical properties of biomembranes. The aim of investigations is to reveal the

2015-2016 possible protective mechanisms of action of α-adrenoblockers beditin and mesedin under the short and long term noise action. Investigate the protective features of α2-adrenoblocker mesedin on the mouse neurons, neural progenitors and astroglial cells in in-vitro models of: 1) hypoxia, 2) glutamate toxicity and 3) Abeta toxicity. To elucidate the age-dependent efficiency of Mesedin to

Since 09/2016 improve the survival and differentiation of aforementioned cell types, cell cultures of different ages were studied. It was also investigated the influence of Mesedin on survival of striatal neurons expressing full length of human Huntingtin (Htt) protein (STHdhQ111/Q111 cell line) as a cellular model of Huntington’s disease.

Study the effects of Mesedin in vivo on APP transgenic mice, particularly on cell neurogenesis, their survival and proliferation, as well as cognitive ability improvement.
