Work experience
In 1972-1974 she worked as General Practitioner in the Policlinics No. 4 in Yerevan.
In 1974 Melanya was appointed as senior assistant in the Chair of infectious diseases in the Yrevan State University for the improvement of doctors
In 1975-1976 she passed a specialization in infectious diseases and received a qualification of doctor- infectioist
1977-1994 Melanya worked as an assistant in the same Chair (from 1993- State Institute of Healthcare, Ministry of Heathcare of the Republic of Armenia)
In 1990 she received a PhD in medical sciences, thesis “Pospholipase test in differential diagnosis of viral hepatitis and subheading jaudice” (14.00.05-internal diseases, 14.00.10- infectious diseases)

Melanya,s pedagogical activity is aimed at postgraduate training of doctors-infectionist and improvement of doctors and medium level medical staff.
She participated in a number of outgoing classes in different marzes of Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh. Melanya is head of the program “Improvement of doctors in marzer of Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh” for infectious diseases under the “Help to Armenia” fund.
Melanya was engaged in active clinical practice. She is head of the department in “Nork” infectious clinic. Doctor-consultant in the “University clinic No. 1”, “Muratsan”, “Izmirlyan”, “Nairi”, “Diagnostics”.
She provided huge medical assistance during epidemics in Armenia and Nagorn Karabakh.
Melanya is an active worker, she also cooperates with many academic scientific projects and programs in different fields of infectious diseases.
She is an author of 106 scientific publications, including 2 tutorials, 4 teaching books, 3 methodological publications, 1 national protocol and co-author of one copyright certificate.
She is member of Scientific council of the Faculty of postgraduate training and continuous education, as well as a member of methodological committee.
Melanya was honored with appreciation certificates of the Ministry of Healthcare of the RA in 2005 and 2012, as well as General staff of the armed forces of theMinistry of Defense in 2012, as well as Rector of YSMU in 2017.
