The first online webinar of the “Dandy” neurosurgical club on “How to become an innovator” took place.
The webinar was conducted by Professor and renowned neurosurgeon Saleem Abdulrauf, President of the Walter Dandy Club.
First, YSMU Vice-Rector Science, COBRAIN Project Coordinator, Professor Konstantin Yenkoyan greeted the participants of the meeting and thanked world-famous doctor-scientist Saleem Abdulrauf and Dandy Club for its continuous support.
The professor stressed the importance of the initiative of the students to establish a “Dandy” club in Armenia, the inclusion of new members in the club, as well as urged to pay more attention to the involvement of students in research.
Saleem Abdulrauf gave an interesting lecture on innovation, research and neurosurgery. The doctor referred to his innovative approach to aneurysm surgery, the concept of “awake surgery”, as an example of how a patient plays the guitar during brain surgery.
The professor then introduced the students to how to make innovations in daily activities, to think “outside the box”.
It is noteworthy that the new skills discovered by Dr. Abdulrauf were named after him. During the interesting discussion, the students asked their questions, to which the professor gave direct answers, even sharing the little secrets of his personal and professional life.
At the end of the meeting, the possible directions of further cooperation with YSMU COBRAIN Center and Abdulrauf Neurosurgery Institute were discussed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
