Future surgeon and military doctor Aakash Pannu is a 5th course student at the Faculty of General Medicine of Yerevan State Medical University.<\/p>\n
He is from India. “I was born in a city named Rohtak near Delhi. I have always been an extrovert and adventurous person, and I bond with new people easily. I am not an organized person in time, but I tend to organize my work, and I’m fairly consistent with my academics”, Aakash tells. He has interesting habits, like reading, sketching, hiking, skating, fishing, camping etc. “I am also a cyclist, and recently I completed approximately 500 km cross country cycling trip in northern Armenia, covering 6 cities”, he says.<\/p>\n
Aakash decided to become a doctor when he was 15 years old. “I had a strong interest in biology of bodily functions and strong urge to be of use to people. And when my grandfather suggested me this noble profession, I was a little scared at the beginning, but now it has become a dream to me, and I cannot possibly think of anything I would like to change in my life”, he assures.<\/p>\n
Aakash knew about Armenia through the news and historical documentaries. “But I came to know about YSMU through a family friend who graduated 3 years ago, then I myself did some research and given the rich heritage of the institution I decided to peruse it for my higher studies”, he adds.<\/p>\n
The quality of education given at YSMU, from his point of view, is no less than any other good institution in the world. “I have my childhood friends in many countries across the world, we sometimes sit and talk about our institutions, and YSMU always stands as the best. I proudly say that: yes, I am satisfied with my education”, Aakash emphasizes.<\/p>\n
Armenia, according to him, is a beautiful place to live. “Armenian people are very hospitable, kind and warm hearted. Yerevan has taught me a lot and has made me a self-dependent person. Yerevan helped me groom my personality. And also, has given me amazing friends”, Aakash says.<\/p>\n
He would love to stay and work in Armenia, but since his whole family was in India, and also, he had ambitions to serve in the army as a doctor, he might return back to India.<\/p>\n
From Aakash’s point of view, a good doctor is one who only sees a sick person in a patient, but not his\/her nationality, religion, ethnicity or language and treats him\/her to the best of his abilities. “A good doctor must have strong moral, exceptional clarity and a calm nature”, he concludes.<\/p>\n
