The auditorium is equipped with telecommunication facilities and is designed for students, clinical residents and doctors.
Bagrat Baveyan, chief doctor of the Muratsan Hospital Complex, said that discussions, round tables, as well as lectures will be organized here. “In order to discuss cases of illness, doctors will be able to communicate online with foreign colleagues to hold consultations to organize the treatment of the patients more efficiently,” said the chief doctor.
YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan thanked the ‘Cronimet’ Charitable Foundation for the opening of the auditorium, noting that benefactors, taking into account today's reality, have directed their potential to the most important social issue. “This hospital is distinguished by its activity in the regional healthcare system. Telemedicine will enable not only to reduce abroad visits, but will also respond quickly to the problems that exist in the provinces, “said the Rector, adding that the auditorium is unique, especially for clinical residents who will better understand the problems of regional ambulatories.
According to Armen Muradyan, modern medical education requires both technical equipment and new programs aimed at improving the quality of services.
Associate Professor at the Department of Oncology, YSMU, Gevorg Tamamyan, who is the initiator of the project, said the auditorium was a step of the development of telemedicine at university hospitals. “Today, an opportunity has been created for contacting regional hospitals, including foreign partners, to discuss difficult cases,” said Gevorg Tamamyan.
