On September 23, an international medical conference titled \u201cIn Pursuit of Excellence\u201d organized jointly with the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia, took place in Hall 6 named after Nelli Khostikyan, where Armenian-American doctors and specialists from the USA, together with their Armenian colleagues, held discussions and shared their experience and knowledge.
\n\u201cToday is another significant day for the conference, especially considering that for the third time, thanks to the efforts of Mr. Abgaryan, this large-scale discussion is organized, dedicated to the current issues of healthcare systems, particularly oncology, medical personnel resources, and most importantly burnout, all summarized with the involvement of advanced technologies,\u201d YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan said emphasizing the participation of both local and future doctors and the medical community in scientific discussions.
\nAccording to the Rector, the work of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Fresno, Perch Abgaryan, for nearly ten years has been focused on improving the healthcare system in Armenia, constantly strengthening the ties with the Armenian medical community and diaspora in the USA.
\n\u201cMrs. Quinn\u2019s presence at a high level signals the importance of this conference. I want to express special thanks to the distinguished Ambassador for her support and cooperation in strengthening partnerships. Our Armenian-American compatriots working in the USA have had a significant influence on ensuring that medicine in the Republic of Armenia reaches a global level. I direct these words primarily to the frontline students: these are not empty words. In fact, since the 1990s, medicine in Armenia has undergone rapid development, and diaspora doctors and compatriots have had a great impact on this. You are part of that momentum and see how strong foundations are being laid to continue this work in the future,\u201d Armen Muradyan highlighted, expressing gratitude to the people involved. He also announced that by unanimous decision of the Faculty Council, Mr. Abgaryan was awarded the honorary title of Professor at the Faculty of Public Healthcare.
\nThe Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Fresno, Perch Abgaryan, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas through the international medical conference. \u201cToday we mark the 10th anniversary of our partnership. For me, this is a new beginning. We must not stop. I see this as a solid foundation that physical distance will not separate us; we are always connected through cooperation and mutual dedication to a better medical future,\u201d he said, addressing the importance of the conference and its speakers.
\nThe United States Ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Quinn, started her welcoming speech by thanking the Yerevan State Medical University and Rector Armen Muradyan for their cooperation. She also expressed special gratitude to the Armenian community in Fresno and to Honorary Consul Perch Abgaryan.
\n\u201cIt has been a great pleasure to be here for the third international medical conference. I highly value this partnership and cooperation. The USA and Armenia have spent many years dedicated to education and innovation. Today\u2019s gathering of professionals is a vivid example of this. This conference also shows the growing role of Armenia as a center for medical science and practice advancement. As the United States has demonstrated, cooperation in healthcare plays a vital role in innovation and development, follow-up and preparedness, cancer diagnosis, and treatment based on evidence, leading to healthier and more resilient societies,\u201d Kristina Quinn said.

\nThe first day of the international medical conference was dedicated to disaster medicine. Israeli specialist Subhi Hakrush presented on \u201cPreparedness\/Response of Healthcare Systems to Disasters: Lessons Learned,\u201d also highlighting healthcare challenges in disaster response.
\nArmenian specialist Armen Melkonyan discussed the evaluation of international emergency medical services in Armenia, referencing the explosion that took place near Stepanakert in 2023.
\nDisaster medicine expert Jov Grehem presented on \u201cThe Selection and Importance of Disaster Medicine Practice,\u201d as well as special preparedness for medical disaster specialists.
\nAmerican Professor Hunter Wessels covered the role of AI in doctors\u2019 workload and burnout reduction, focusing on the role management of traumas and emergencies from urological perspectives.
\nIn the following three days of the conference, specialized panels included discussions on oncology, AI and recent medical science innovations.<\/p>\n
