35 international students who completed the \u201cTropical Diseases\u201d educational program at \u201cMikayelyan\u201d University Hospital were awarded graduation certificates. Since October of the 2019-2020 academic year, the Career Development Center of YSMU, together with the Department of Infectious Diseases and the International Students\u2019 Academic Affairs Department, has introduced a 40-hour program of additional lectures entitled \u201cTropical Diseases\u201d in English. The lectures are conducted by the teaching staff of the Department of Infectious Diseases under the leadership of the Head of the Department, Doctor of Science, Associate Professor Vigen Asoyan.<\/p>\n
Deputy Head of the International Students\u2019 Academic Affairs Department, Associate Professor Anahit Aznauryan noted at the event that from the 2019-2020 academic year to date, 353 international students from the 4th-6th years of the International Students\u2019 Academic Affairs Department, Faculty of General Medicine, have participated in the program. The selection of students for participation was made according to their academic progress. \u201cThe program was originally intended for citizens of India, but after its launch, we received numerous applications, and citizens of other countries were included: Iran, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Jordan,\u201d Anahit Aznauryan told, confidently emphasizing that the students would also use their theoretical knowledge in practice.<\/p>\n
The students were welcomed and congratulated on the completion of the program by Vigen Asoyan, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of YSMU. He emphasized the importance of conducting a course on tropical diseases, especially for foreign students who often encounter or have encountered these diseases in their homeland.<\/p>\n
The lecturers participating in the event emphasized that lectures conducted using interactive modern methods contribute to the development of students’ academic horizons and commitment to medical knowledge, in particular, the lectures were accompanied by pre- and post-tests, didactic materials, and discussions of clinical cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
