On 18-19 October 2016, at Akian Art Gallery AUA the HORIZON 2020 & COSME – Academy was organized by GIZ – SMEDA project in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. It was conducted by a German Expert from ZENIT – Zentrum für Innovation und Technik in NRW in Germany.

The objective of the Academy was to raise awareness on HORIZON 2020 and COSME. During the Academy the International Expert delivered training on Horizon 2020 and COSME and factors for a successful participation in these programs as well as on the work of NCPs to be followed by elaboration of a detailed implementation plan for applications/consortia development. The project was implemented through Private Sector Development South Caucasus Programme of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The training included such issues as proposal structure, consortia, success factors, topics on identification of relevant calls and integration in European Consortia. The NCP and scientific representative staff of Yerevan State Medical University demonstrated its active participation during this training and presented its readiness for participating in the next meeting planned for December 2016.
