Education Quality Assessment and Assurance

Our Mission The mission of the Education Quality Assessment and Assurance System at Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) after M. Heratsi is to embed internal quality assurance mechanisms across all levels of the university and to drive the continuous improvement of educational quality.

History & International Collaboration The YSMU Education Quality Assessment Center was established in 2011. To ensure alignment with global standards, staff members of the YSMU QA Center and its various committees have undergone specialized training at leading European universities through a range of international programs (including DIUSAS, PICQA, GOVERN, ARQATA, VERITAS, SAFEMED, and eCAMPUS).

Leveraging this international expertise, the university has successfully developed and implemented robust internal quality assurance toolkits and procedures. Today, the QA Center plays a direct and integral role in navigating both local and international institutional and programmatic accreditation processes for the university.

System Structure The YSMU Education Quality Assurance System is a collaborative network comprised of the following bodies:

  • The Education Quality Assessment and Assurance Center: The central hub guiding university-wide QA initiatives.
  • Faculty Quality Assurance Coordinators: Dedicated officers responsible for overseeing QA implementation within their respective faculties.
  • Faculty Quality Assurance Committees: Representative groups that monitor and review quality standards at the faculty level.
