Year by year, the number of international students at YSMU is growing significantly. If in 2016-2017 only 1709 students were studying at the university, then in 2022-2023 the number of international students is 2034. Moreover, 746 out of them are Armenians from Diaspora, and 1288 are foreigners. The main part of them – 1694 – study in 1-6 years, 192 – in clinical residency. Foreigners are taught at YSMU in English, in some cases – in Russian and Armenian as well.
Our students come from various countries including the Middle East, Iran, European countries, USA, South Asian countries (India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Republic of Maldives etc.).
The ways of submitting an application to study at YSMU are also different: in 45-50% of cases, by personally applying to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the University, in 35-40% of cases, through YSMU alumni associations, they also apply on the basis of interstate, interdepartmental agreements, through authorized persons.
