Meeting with Apkar Apkarian within the framework of the ADVANCE STEM Research grant program

YSMU COBRAIN , as part of the information day of the ADVANCE STEM research grant program, hosted Apkar Apkarian, Director of the Apkarian Foundation, Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, director of the Center for Translational Pain Research at the Feinberg Medical School of Northwestern University.
After the visit, which has become a pleasant tradition, the professor met with Fast, the Apkarian Foundation operating under his leadership and YSMU applicants and young researchers of the neuroscience research project within the framework of the ADVANCE STEM grant program at the “COBRAIN” scientific-Educational Center for Fundamental Brain Research.
Presenting his scientific path and main scientific interests, Professor Apkarian noted that neuroscience is at the forefront of science today, aimed at identifying the work of the brain, thanks to which a person gets to know himself better, and the world will become a more perceptible and pleasant environment. In his speech the professor also stressed the importance of choosing a career.
In the informational part of the meeting, Professor Apkar Apkarian, YSMU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Professor Konstantin Yenkoyan and Veronika Aghajanyan, Head of Research Development Programs at the FAST Foundation, answered questions from those interested in the ADVANCE STEM research program and held effective scientific discussions with young researchers.
