The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives offers scholarships for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from the former Allied countries of World War II who wish to study at a Berlin university or utilize research facilities in Berlin.
The Foundation awards around 15 grants annually. The scholarship amounts to 1,100 EUR per month for graduate and doctoral students, and 1,630 EUR per month for postdoctoral researchers, for a period of 10 months. Additionally, a fixed travel allowance is provided.
Applicants must be outstanding young academics from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, or the successor states of the Soviet Union. The program encourages projects connected to Berlin or German international relations, or that require access to Berlin’s research institutions.
The application deadline is 15 December 2025. The program will run from 1 October 2026 to 31 July 2027.
