During the session of the Scientific Council, the solemn ceremony of awarding the international accreditation certificate of the trilingual “MD Physician” educational programs of Yerevan State Medical University by the NCEQE (National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement) structure was held. It brought together the representatives of the Faculty of General Medicine, future doctors, and guests.
The event was attended by Zhanna Andreasyan, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports; representatives of the WFME (World Federation for Medical Education), who handed over this internationally important document to the management of the University.
YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan proudly noted that the decades-long work aimed at internationalization began back in 1958, and since 1987, the Medical University has had foreign students. According to the Rector’s assessment, the future of Armenia is education, because a protected nation is an educated nation. “In that sense, the Medical University has fully fulfilled its duty, and will continue to work in accordance with the established principles”, he added.
Konstantin Chokoraia, an international expert from Georgia, noted with satisfaction: “I am happy to be here with you today and congratulate Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi for this great success”.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan also congratulated the attendees: “Today’s significant event, first of all, testifies to the consistent work of a great team over the years”.
Thus, we should state that the certificate transferred to the University is the evidence that the education of the Medical University is perceptible, acceptable and measurable in the international field.
