The competitive election of the rector was held at the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the “Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi” Foundation convened on June 26.
All 20 members of the Board were present at the meeting, chaired by Mikayel Adamyan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
As a result of a closed secret ballot, the candidate, Professor Armen Muradyan, was elected YSMU Rector by a majority of votes (19 in favor, 1 invalid).
Professor Muradyan is the 22nd rector of the 100-year-old forge of medical personnel.
On May 27, the Board of Trustees of the “Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi” Foundation, in accordance with the established procedure, announced an open competitive election for the position of YSMU Rector.
