World Marrow Donor Day (WMDD) is celebrated all over the world every 3-rd Saturday of September. In 2023 it falls on September 16th.
The event will be celebrated in more than 50 countries on all continents reaching hundreds of thousands of people through social, as well as conventional media coverage.
The main objective of WMDD is to thank all donors worldwide. Secondary objective is to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about being a stem cell donor and the impact of blood stem cell transplantation on patients’ lives.
World Marrow Donor Day is an initiative of the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA), the largest organization dedicated to donor care and providing information for the facilitation of a search process.
The slogan of the World Marrow Donor Day 2023 is “I support saving lives”.
