The year 2023 will double our efforts, making us stronger, more resilient and creative

The New Year is approaching, and each of us in our New Year's frenzy strives to complete unfinished business, plan upcoming tasks and, of course, summarize the work done during the year.

Dear students, dear future doctors, colleagues, medical workers spending this holiday in medical institutions, a lot of achievements during this year were in the form of new curricula, renovated student spaces, scientific events, international cooperation, clinical achievements, ultimately, thousands of saved lives.

Along with the successes, there were also a few shortcomings, slips and misses, which were inevitable.

I want to express my deep gratitude to YSMU students for passing 2022 together, rejoicing in successes and not being discouraged by failures and difficulties.

To my fellow healthcare workers, I want to thank you for your 365 days of hard and dedicated work, when you uncomplainingly embark on the important, invaluable mission of helping people.

Lives saved, destinies changed, adults and children leaving the medical facility with a smile are the greatest appreciation we can receive for a sleepless night, hard duty or a complicated surgery.

The losses of professors this year were not few, but the century-old tradition of honoring our elder teachers in the university will be passed down from generation to generation, because only a worthy and grateful person who knows how to appreciate can achieve success.

Dear scientists, young researchers, let your long hours spent in laboratories, researches, trainings bear their fruits in the form of scientific articles, new discoveries, achievements.

Dear students, I want you to be sure that you, the future specialist, are at the core of all the new ideas implemented in the century-old medical university. We have spared and will not spare no effort to provide you with quality medical education. By nurturing physicians, we are shaping the history of medicine and the future of this important field. I want you to sum up the year as a learner, as a student, first of all, valuing the knowledge you have received and which you will use for the health of people.

Together, we should be able to overcome all challenges for the benefit of the development of medicine, for the benefit of population health care in our country.

May the year 2023 double our efforts, making us stronger, more resilient and creative.

Congratulating you all on the New Year and Christmas holidays, I wish you endless energy, happy and peaceful days.

Armen Muradyan,

YSMU Rector, Professor
