Thanks to the grant agreement signed in September 2013 between YSMU and the Center for Educational Programs, the creation of a simulation training center for practical skills was initiated.
On December 22, 2014, a simulation training and sports center was founded at YSMU, which in the educational process of the university was a completely new way of voicing the application of theoretical knowledge in practice. The introduction of such an innovative method of education at the stages of both university and postgraduate, as well as continuing education, allows students to develop practical skills and minimise the number of medical errors in their professional activities.
Simulation Center for the formation of professional abilities in the direction of resuscitation, intensive care, obstetrics and gynaecology, surgery, general clinical skills has the latest medical simulation educational complex, which includes computerised robots with special software, computer and related equipment, appropriate qualifications, as well as professional and scientific literature related to simulation medical education. It is no coincidence that the center adopted the slogan “teaching learning”. This new medical direction gives an opportunity to senior students, clinical residents, first-year students to transfer the knowledge they have already acquired, as well as to teach. The center uses innovative examination mechanisms to test students’ practical skills. For many years, she has been loved by future doctors, as well as by already established specialists.
It should be noted that the employees of the simulation center have been retrained in reputable foreign training centers. In order to ensure the best result of the implementation of best practices and reforms, teachers of the simulation center and clinical departments of YSMU, for residents, retraining courses are also periodically conducted by world-renowned experts, mutual visits of specialists, training courses and trainings are organized. Retraining courses for doctors and nurses are organized on the topic of first aid.
