LEADING RUSSIAN SCIENTIST VLADIMIR CHEKHONIN- HONORARY DOCTOR OF YSMU

At the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi a special meeting of the Scientific Council was convened, during which the Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Medical Nano biotechnology at the University of Pirogov Vladimir Chekhonin was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of YSMU.

The proposal of the nomination committee and the decision of the Academic Council were read by the Chair of the Committee, Professor of the Histology, Artashes Aznauryan.
YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan noted that the meeting of the Scientific Council is special. He noted that YSMU Honorary Doctor is awarded by the renowned representatives of medicine whose contributions are invaluable in the development of the healthcare and this tradition will be continuous.

Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Chekhonin thanked for such an honor he was given for his humble scientific activity.
Head of the Department of Medical Nano biotechnology at the Medical and Biological Faculty at the Pirogov University noted that he had various occasions to work with many famous Armenian physicians.

He highlighted the importance of parallel development of science in Armenia and Russia. Then the renowned specialist delivered a lecture on “Application of Innovative Biotechnologies in Brain Research” for YSMU professors and students. He thoroughly touched upon the implementation of innovative research in the field of medicine.
YSMU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Konstantin Yenkoyan reminded those present that Vladimir Chekhonin is teaching for the second time in YSMU. In September, he delivered a lecture on “Biotechnological Innovations in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cerebral Tumors.”

There are also plans to expand cooperation in the field of science in the near future. At the end of the event, the physician answered the questions of the participants.
