The library of the Medical University was replenished with professional literature

Through the mediation of Harut Sasunyan, publisher and editor of “California Courier” newspaper, effective cooperation between Yerevan State Medical University and GXP Biopharma continues.

Ashot Petrossian, Professor of Biochemistry and Biology (Biotechnology Biopharma expert with Biophysics PhD from UC Berkeley) was born in the United States and developed his activities there, but always kept in touch with his homeland, Armenia. “He always thought about how to help, and since he attached great importance to education, especially in his homeland, he decided to make his donation in the form of books, once again enriching the Yerevan State Medical University library with new professional literature. Ashot Petrossian is full of hope that students will often use these books and improve their knowledge even more”, Ruzan Petrossian, the representative of the company in Armenia, said, adding that in the 1980s and 1990s, Ashot Petrossian led the San Francisco-based “Tekeyan” center for about 10 years. Taking into account the activity of the “Tekeyan” center in Armenia, it will also be included in the chain of cooperation in the future.

According to Khachatur Margaryan, Head of the YSMU Career Center, Ashot Petrossian has already donated about 50 books to the Medical University, sending exactly the modern literature that the university needs. “Among those books, we can single out the entire list of Netter (The Netter Collection of Medical Illustrations) works – the atlas of anatomy and clinical anatomy, which we did not have before”, Khachatur Margaryan emphasized.
