Future doctors participated in the event dedicated to the 75th Republic Day of India

Indian students of Yerevan State Medical University celebrated the 75th Republic Day of India.

The solemn ceremony organized at the Embassy of India in Armenia and Georgia started with the national anthem of the country.

The event was attended by Yervand Sahakyan, Vice-Rector for international activities and external relations, Gayane Avetisyan, Head of the Department of International Students’ Education, and Rahul Anil Sethi, Head of the Department of International Students’ Affairs.

Her Excellency Nilakshi S. Sinha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia and Georgia, unfurled the national flag and read out excerpts from the address of Honorable President of India: “This is the time for epic transformation for India. We are given a golden opportunity to take the country to new heights. Contribution from every citizen will be crucial to achieve our goals. For this I will appeal to all my fellow citizens to abide by our fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution. More than 1,4 billion of us live as one family. For this largest family in the world coexinstence is not an imposition of geography, but a source of happiness which finds expression in our Republic Day celebrations”. It was also the year, according to the address, when India went to the moon becoming the first to land on the lunar south pole region.

The festive event was accompanied by beautiful performances of Indian national dance and song by students of the Medical University.

The cultural part concluded with an impressive recitation by Rahul Anil Sethi on a patriotic theme.
