The Embassy of India in Armenia celebrated the festival of Diwali on Saturday, 25th October, with great enthusiasm, cultural unity, and festive joy. Yerevan State Medical University actively participated in the celebration, adding vibrant energy and color to the event.
The celebration was graced by Her Excellency Nilakshi Saha Sinha, the Ambassador of India to Armenia, along with esteemed guests from Yerevan State Medical University, including Gayane Avetisyan, the Head of the International Students’ Academic Affairs Department; and Rahul Anil Sethi, the Head of the Department of Work with International Students.
Students from Yerevan State Medical University presented a series of captivating cultural performances that showcased India’s rich artistic heritage. A lively Bollywood dance was performed by Rubin, Rachael, Pragya, Ishika, Anila, Prachi, Shiwangi, Deepshikha and Aishwariya, students from different courses of the university. A mesmerizing classical dance by Prashansa added a traditional and graceful touch to the evening.
Around 35 students from the university attended the celebration as part of the audience, enthusiastically supporting their peers and sharing the festive spirit.
The event commenced with an opening address by the Ambassador of India, who spoke about the significance of Diwali as a festival that spreads light, harmony, and togetherness. The celebration continued with various cultural programs and concluded with a sumptuous Indian dinner, creating an atmosphere of warmth and unity among all attendees.
The Diwali celebration at the Embassy truly reflected the essence of Indian culture and strengthened the bond between the Embassy and Yerevan State Medical University.
