Օn October 26, YSMU hosted an international conference titled “Let’s Help Armenia fight against Alzheimer’s Disease Problems”, aimed at helping to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease in Armenia. Today there are more than 50 million people with Alzheimer’s disease in the world. The disease emerges after the age of 60, mostly between 75 and 84 years. As Alzheimer’s disease is incurable, main treatment is the improvement of life quality of patients.
Nobel Prize laureates Ben Feringa and Frederic Stoddart were present at YSMU . The professors are renowned scientists in the field of chemistry. The Trio, composed of Ben Ferguson, Frederic Stoddart and Jean-Pierre Suwage, won the Nobel Prize in chemistry for their work on the design and synthesis of molecular chains in 2016.
YSMU Vice Rector on Scientific Affairs, Professor Konstantin Yenkoyan, visited a number of Polish research institutes and universities on an official visit.The first visit was to the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology.

In the history of the National Academic Theater after Gabriel Sundukyan, a joint congress (www.ess2018.am) was held for the first time in the history of our republic, which includes the Fourth Congress of the Armenian Association of Surgeons (AAS, www.AAS.am), Residents and Young Scientists 3rd European Conference. The two-day conference is attended by more than 200 participants from 30 countries, including prominent academics, university professors, and practitioners. Armenian surgeons from Artsakh, the Diaspora and Armenian regions are widely involved in the work of the Congress.
