In the YSMU main building, Armenian and foreign students, alongside the professors and lecturers, have enthusiastically greeted the famous armenian-american doctor, co-director of the UCLA Medical college after David Geffen, producer of “Promise”, a Hollywood film telling about the Armenian genocide, doctor Eric Esrailian, and UCLA Rector, biologist and academic, Jinn Block. Their visit to YSMU was opened by a group photo with the students, after which the guests, accompanied by Rector Armen Muradyan walked around the center of stomatological education, got acquainted with the technologies of the newly opened building.
20/09/2018YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan greeted professor Natalya Volevodz, assistant director of the scientific center of endocrinology in the Russian Federation. The Rector gave the visitor, who is a world class expert, a certificate of visitation to YSMU.
The YSMU visit by the Sri Lanka delegation continues. The point of our foreign colleagues’ visit was to establish cooperation in the medical education field between the two countries. Professors Samankumar Chandragupta Vimalasunder and Hiddadura Navin Deshika Soysay, accompanied by the YSMU Vice-rector on International Relations Yervand Sahakyan and representatives of the educational field, visited the medical complexes of the university. The guest got acquainted with the activity of Muratsan hospital and Mikayelyan surgical institute․ They watched the class process.
By the decree of the President of the Artsakh Republic, Head of the Chair of Social Sciences at YSMU, Professor Vahan Melikyan and Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor Armenuhi Ghambaryan were awarded “Vachagan Barepasht” Medal for significant contribution to the military-patriotic upbringing of the Artsakh Republic Defense Army servicemen. YSMU employees are participants of the program entitled “Pages of History and Culture” organized by the Public Council under the patronage of Ministry of Defense.
YSMU’s Career center has vast experience in Medical Entrance Exam preparations under headship of Globus program which is preparing students of YSMU for various medical licensing exams such as USMLE and FMGE. A team of experts and professionals are always determined & focus on every student individually and all the problems that might arise while entrance exam is tackled and resolved. Career center has consistently proved its efficiency by giving constant results in polishing student's skills and knowledge, in result our students have an average of 85% pass percentage rate in several medical entrance exams
Since March 2018 Talin Babikian, PhD, board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Associate Director of BrainSPORT at UCLA, has become Visiting Professor in the Department of Medical Psychology at Yerevan State Medical University.
Despite the holidays, one of the newly opened YSMU auditoriums was full of students and residents. The students had a chance to participate in the Pediatric Case-discussion with Alicia Demirjian, who is visiting professor at YSMU and pediatric infectious diseases doctor and epidemiologist in the Department of Pediatrics at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK.
Since March 2018 Alexander Velumian, PhD, DSc Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, has become Visiting Professor in the Department of Physiology at Yerevan State Medical University.
Professor Darzi is Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London. He also holds the Paul Hamlyn Chair of Surgery at Imperial College London, and the Institute of Cancer Research and is Executive Chair of the World Innovation Summit for Health in Qatar. He is a Consultant Surgeon at Imperial College Hospital NHS Trust and the Royal Marsden NHS Trust. Lord Darzi is also the Aurora Prize Selection Committee member.
