Bagrat Aleqyan and Karine Sargsyan joined the ranks of YSMU Honorary Doctors

The number of YSMU Honorary Doctors of was replenished with two more leading specialists. Famous cardiovascular surgeon, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Bagrat Aleqyan and President of the ESBB (European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking), the Founder and the Head of the Biobank of the University of Graz in Austria, Visiting Professor of YSMU Department of Medical Genetics, Expert of the EU ARICE Program Karine Sargsyan became Honorary Doctors of the 100-year-olduUniversity.

Erasmus+ Final International Conference at YSMU

The Final international conference on the topic of «Doctoral Programs in Public Health and Social Services» (DPPHSS) has launched at the Medical University.This important event in the field of education united specialists from the Universities of Armenia, Georgia, Romania, Austria, Sweden, Moldova, Slovakia, Kyrgyzstan within the warm walls of YSMU.The welcoming message of the Rector of YSMU Armen Muradyan to the guests was made by the coordinator of the program and the head of the Chair of Public Health and Healthcare of YSMU Artashes Tadevosyan.

The Seahorse XFe96 Analyzer will be launched at YSMU “COBRAIN” center

The installation and testing of the Seahorse XFe96 analyzer has been carried out by the engineers from Moscow at the “COBRAIN” center of YSMU.In the near future the visit of specialists from Manchester is already planned, who will certify the testing of the device and the training of the researchers who will carry out further works. The Seahorse XFe96 analyzer was purchased as a result of a tender to provide financial support for the modernization of the infrastructure, material and technical base in the field of science, approved by the order of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA.

Meeting with Apkar Apkarian within the framework of the ADVANCE STEM Research grant program

YSMU COBRAIN , as part of the information day of the ADVANCE STEM research grant program, hosted Apkar Apkarian, Director of the Apkarian Foundation, Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, director of the Center for Translational Pain Research at the Feinberg Medical School of Northwestern University.After the visit, which has become a pleasant tradition, the professor met with Fast, the Apkarian Foundation operating under his leadership and YSMU applicants and young researchers of the neuroscience research project within the framework of the ADVANCE STEM grant program at the “COBRAIN” scientific-Educational Center for Fundamental Brain Research.

Ardem Patapoutian: I am very proud of my Armenian origin

June 14 was special at Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi․ The honorary guest of the 100-year-old forge of future doctors was Ardem Patapoutian, the first Nobel Prize winner of Armenian origin, the prominent Armenian-American scientist, the molecular biologist-neurobiologist, the professor at the Doris Center for Neurology at the Scripps Research Institute in California, and a researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

BUSY WORKING DAY AT “COBRAIN”

“COBRAIN”-The Scientific and Educational Center for Fundamental Brain Research , which opened its doors in March, has already switched to a stormy working routine. The experiments planned in the current programs have already been transferred to the laboratories of the new center and are continuing with the involvement of new devices. In parallel, some new equipment is being used, and educational work is being carried out on their competent use.
