“Future Doctor”, the official newspaper of Yerevan State Medical University, has been published since 1958.
Since a large number of foreign students study at the university, publications in English and Russian languages are also included in the newspaper, thanks to which “Future Doctor” spreads beyond the borders of the republic.
Unlike many university newspapers, which had long hiatuses or were closed during the difficult years of the new Republic, “Future Doctor” was published without a break. Moreover, when the official party press of Soviet Armenia did not dare to write about the situation in our country since 1988, the declaration of independence, the Artsakh issue, and there was still no mention of today’s free press, taking advantage of the slight relaxation of the Main office of literature and publishing control over mass-circulation newspapers, “Future Doctor” Russian-language editions reached all medical institutions of higher education in the Soviet Union.
“Future Doctor” considers this unique guerilla war to be one of the most memorable moments of his career.
The collections of the newspaper, starting from the first edition, are kept in the vaults of the National Library, the RA Press Office and the “Future Doctor” editorial office.
The editorial office willingly publishes materials and articles of professors, employees, students, as well as literary works.
Those who want to be published in the newspaper can apply to the editorial office by submitting the electronic versions of the materials.
“Future Doctor” is published on a monthly basis.
