Career Center of YSMU organized free preparatory classes for FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination).
This year, 11 Indian graduates were awarded with the graduation certificate of the university program.
FMGE is a licensing examination for Indian nationals to obtain the right to work as a doctor in India.
Every year, Indian students graduated from 450 universities of 60 countries participate in the examination held by the Medical Council of the Republic of India.
According to Khachatur Margaryan, the head of the Career Center, most of the Indian graduates of YSMU pass the FMGE exam successfully (the success rate is around 90-95%), which is a high indicator among the universities of the world. “Every year, the Medical Council of India compiles statistics, according to which it ranks universities based on the results shown by the graduates of various universities around the world. Indian students educated at our university return to their country and successfully pass the FMGE exam, raising the ranking of both YSMU and Armenia on international educational platforms,” Khachatur Margaryan emphasizes.
Free FMGE preparatory courses have been held since 2018 under the auspices of the Embassy of India in Armenia.
Rahul Anil Sethi, head of the Foreign Student Affairs Department, informed that students were provided with relevant literature from India and were regularly informed about the changing regulations related to the examination.
The preparatory courses are held in parallel with studies and last 3 years: the start is given in the 4th year, and the program ends in the 6th year.
