YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan: May 2025 be 365 days of peace and greater achievements

YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan: May 2025 be 365 days of peace and greater achievements

Dear members of university family, students, lecturers, colleagues!

The ending year is an occasion to summarize the past year, evaluate the work done, achievements, and outline the tasks for the next year.

I am pleased to note that Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, faithful to its rich traditions, continues to provide a high educational standard, preparing and directing numerous doctors to the professional field.

This year too our university has achieved success in the fields of education, science, and clinical activities, trying to introduce innovative approaches in all directions.

Numerous programs and projects have been launched. The year started with great success, the YSMU “MD Physician” educational program received international program accreditation for a period of 7 years, and this is just the beginning, next we have work and expected results in the educational fields of dentistry, pharmacy, and postgraduate and continuing education.

One of the memorable projects was the ceremonial transfer of the manuscript “The Benefits of Medicine” by the prominent medieval Armenian physician, scholar, and writer Amirdovlat Amasiatsi, copied about 300 years ago (18th century), to the Mesrop Mashtots Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. It was acquired from a private collection on the initiative of the students of the Medical University.

I consider the launch of the project to reconstruct the new university library with the support of the “Keron” Development Foundation to be extremely important. Each of us should become a participant in this large-scale initiative.

I am sure that the ultra-modern library, equipped with new educational solutions, will become a center of knowledge and learning for future doctors.

In the new year, we will continue to implement our rather ambitious and promising programs aimed at the development of medical science.

Congratulating you on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas, I would like to express my gratitude to this large University family, as I like to say, the “Heratsi” family, for solving sometimes insurmountable problems together, responding promptly to various emerging issues, bringing numerous programs to life with joint efforts, and pushing this century-old educational institution forward on a clear path of development.

I wish that the new year 2025 will be a year of peace and greater achievements, 365 days of health, happiness, and professional success.
