Prospects for expanding collaboration between YSMU and WHO were discussed

Armen Muradyan, Rector of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi; received Siddhartha Datta, Head of the WHO Office in Armenia.

Welcoming the high-ranking guest, the Head of the University emphasized that in addition to educational programs, the Medical University also implements social responsibility programs.

According to him, the meeting is a parity for the University, where more than 2,000 students from 33 countries of the world study. “We have a principled position: YSMU is an internationally recognized university that allows itself to speak the same language with all medical universities in the world,” Armen Muradyan emphasized.

Siddhartha Datta, the Head of the WHO Office in Armenia, expressed gratitude for the reception. Qualifying the meeting as a new start of cooperation, he expressed his readiness to expand joint initiatives, especially in the areas of research and data analysis, not only regionally, but also globally. “The WHO can make a significant contribution to the educational programs of the University. All 800 centers of excellence are at your disposal,” Siddhartha Datta noted.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to outline the main areas of cooperation, around which joint work will begin.
