The authoritative international publishing house “Springer” published a book “Biobanks in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Relevance, Setup and Management” edited by the graduate of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, Professor Karine Sargsyan, Professors Berthold Huppertz and Svetlana Gramatiuk. The book will be a significant contribution to the field of medicine.
It introduces a set of chapters which present topics of great importance, among them are the following: “Business Planning for Biobanks”; “Biobanking Concepts Specific for Developing Countries”; “Biobanking of the Central Nervous System”; “Biobanking in Pediatrics: A Look from Armenia as a Low-Income Country”. The coauthors of these chapters are YSMU Rector, Professor Armen Muradyan, Vice-Rector for Science, Professor Konstantin Yenkoyan, Head of YSMU Chair of Medical Genetics, Professor Tamara Sargsyan, Associate Professor of Chair N2 of Pediatrics Sergey Sargsyan.
The book guides through the practical planning thereof, with a special focus on the situation in low- and middle-income countries.
