Hambardzum Kechek Junior visited the Medical University

Hambardzum Kechek, the great-great-grandson of the outstanding Armenian doctor of the 20th century, the founder of scientific surgery Hambardzum Kechek, and his great-grandson, journalist Mark Grigoryan, visited the Yerevan State Medical University and the Rehabilitation Center of the Defender of Homeland.

There are many doctors, engineers and musicians in the Kechek family. The younger, 25-year-old Hambardzum, is also a musician, a pianist. He lives in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. He came to Yerevan to visit his grandparents. His father and grandfather are also musicians. The latter, Sergey Kechek, is a teacher, professor, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia.

The guests were accompanied by Armen Muradyan, YSMU Rector; and Armen Minasyan, Vice-Rector for Clinical Work.

The Rector spoke with warmth and trepidation about the Kechek family which represents generations of the intellectuals.

During the meeting, the possibility of holding a concert program with the participation of Hambardzum Kechek at the Medical University in the future was also discussed. Kechek Jr. considered this a very impressive idea.

It should be noted that Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Hambardzum Kechek was the organizer and dean of the first Medical-Surgical Department and Clinic of YSMU, the founder and long-term leader of the Medical Society of Soviet Armenia. The contribution of the outstanding scientist to medicine is invaluable.

The University carefully preserves and tries to pass on the legacy of the famous doctor to generations.
