Certification of practical skills at YSMU will be conducted in OSCE format

At the end of the 2022-2023 academic year, for the first time, the practical skills certification of the state graduation exam at YSMU will be conducted in the OSCE (Objective Structural Clinical Exams) format.

The OSCE exam center is located in “Mikayelyan” University Hospital, the opening thereof was announced with the participation of education officials, and with a trial run of exams.

In 12 stations of the newly formed center, the participant of the mock exam must correctly implement the practical skills according to the established schedule.

The actions performed are evaluated by the professors included in the commission. The entire exam process is on the appropriate screen.

According to YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan, the new exam format will increase the quality of education and, most importantly, will bring it into line with international, particularly European, standards.

The OSCE exam includes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. 3 rooms are intended for surgery, 5 rooms – for internal diseases: nephrology, pulmonology, cardiology, rheumatology and gastroenterology, 2 rooms – for obstetrics and gynecology, 1 room – for emergency care, and 1 room is called a rest room.
