The fastest growing medical university in the Post-Soviet Region is Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi.
This assessment is based on a large-scale study, during which the scientific output generated by medical universities and universities with medical faculties throughout the Post-Soviet Region was analyzed. It was measured using articles published in scientific journals indexed by the US National Library of Medicine (PubMed).

In the list of fast-growing universities, YSMU is followed by the University of Latvia, Samara State Medical University, Saint Petersburg State University, Novosibirsk State University, and Vilnius University.
The research was conducted by The Boston Institute for Global Rankings, an academic initiative whose founders include YSMU graduates.
