Another academic year has come to an end: 900 graduates received Medical University diplomas

The end of the 2025-2026 academic year at Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi was marked by the ceremony of taking the professional oath by the graduates and the solemn meeting of the Scientific Council.

This year, 900 graduates leave the forge of medical personnel, 206 of whom are foreign specialists.

“Today is a significant day for the Medical University. One more generation will become doctors at the solemn meeting with the swearing-in ceremony. People who are capable and obliged, people who are simply responsible. Six difficult years and, I can say, very difficult state exams. You overcame it, I am proud of you”, YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan announced, addressing the members of the Scientific and Trustee Councils, teaching staff and graduates, wishing the latter to stand firm and never be shy to proudly present their knowledge.

“For 100 years, our university provided powerful support to our people, with honor provided medical assistance to various peoples, located thousands of kilometers from our country, in various situations,” Armen Muradyan noted, emphasizing the great importance of education and joint work of parents and lecturers at this important stage.

He informed the audience that in exactly one year, the Medical University will host the Armenian World Medical Congress (Armenian Medical World Congress 2027), which is a particularly honorable and responsible event. The congress will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of YSMU.

It is symbolic that next year the Medical University will graduate the 100th generation of alumni.

The Head of the Board of Trustees of YSMU, the Deans of the Faculties, as well as the honorable guest of the festive evening also congratulated the graduates.

July 8 was filled with touching moments, symbolic ceremonies, soulful words, music and dances.
