Indian Ambassador met with future doctors

The meeting of India’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha with Indian future doctors took place at Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi.

The diplomat recalled that her first meeting with Indian students was in April of this year, when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat, the 100th radio program of the country’s leader, was broadcast at the Medical University.

“On November 12, we celebrated Diwali together. On January 26, we will celebrate our National Holiday, the Republic Day of India”, Nilakshi Saha Sinha said, adding that the Embassy team was ready to work with students in organizing events on the occasion of national holidays.

The meeting was attended by Yervand Sahakyan, Vice-Rector for External Affairs and International Partnerships, Gayane Avetisyan, Head of the International Students’ Academic Affairs Department, Anahit Aznauryan, Deputy Head of the International Students’ Academic Affairs Department, and Rahul Anil Sethi, Head of the Department of Foreigners’ Affairs.

Students addressed their questions to the Ambassador, which were mainly related to the support provided by the Embassy to students.

Answering the Indian student’s question about English textbooks, Gayane Avetisyan informed that the Medical University was in the process of international program accreditation, and due to the change in the curriculum, the standards related to university textbooks were also subject to certain reforms.

It should be noted that about 500 Indian students are getting education at the century-old Medical University.
