On January 10, the World Hindi Day was celebrated in Armenia. The event organized at the Armenian-Russian University at the initiative of the Embassy of India was marked by a competition, during which young Armenian professionals presented poems in Hindi and made speeches.
Nilakshi Saha Sinha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Armenia, welcoming the audience, read the message of the Prime Minister of the country.
Emphasizing the importance of Hindi in the world, the diplomat noted it had the potential to become an international language. “If you want your language and culture to be respected, you must respect the language and culture of others,” Nilakshi Saha Sinha emphasized at the same time.
Rahul Anil Sethi, the Head of the Department of work with international students of YSMU, was invited to the event as part of the jury of the competition, taking into account his international experience in this field.
The University specialist with Indian nationality read a poem in his native language, sharing with the participants the nuances of public speaking and his own experience.
At the end of the event, the winners of the competition received prizes.
