Srishti Saxena, a 5th course student of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, Dean’s-office of International Students, came from India to Armenia 4 years ago: now Armenia has become her second home.
Srishti is a future surgeon; she wants to become a trauma surgeon. “I used to be a good student and fond of studies. I want to become a doctor. As it is very difficult to get a college in India for medicine, I decided to study abroad. Few of my seniors were already studying in Armenia. They recommended me, and I found that Armenia was a very beautiful and safe country known for its education system. So, I chose Armenia for my higher education. And, as YSMU completed 100 years this year, I feel proud to be a part of this university”, she emphasizes.
For an Indian student YSMU education is great. “The entire faculty is very good and helpful. I have healthy relationships with my classmates. They all are very encouraging”, notes Srishti. Speaking about her favorite subject, she says that it very difficult to choose. “Each and every subject I study I found them interesting, and my faculty makes it so interesting that right now I am not able to choose one single subject. But, if really have to choose, I will go for Surgery then Obstetrics and Gynecology”, adds Srishti.
The life in Armenia, in her words, was difficult initially as she was away from home. “But now I have made friends. People here are very cooperative, helpful and lovable. Armenia has become my second home now”, notes the Indian student. Concerning her plans for the future, Srishti is sure: “If I get the good opportunity to stay and work for Armenia, I will be glad”.
She loves to read, write, draw, sketches, shading and painting. “I have taken part in “Language day” cultural program in my 1st year. In general, also I have written a few poems. I usually write in my native language, which is “Hindi”. My recent one was on topic “Loneliness during lockdown”. I have written a lot of poems on my mother whom I love the most, but I have also written on other topics also, mostly related to feelings”, notes Srishti.
Presenting her first published novel at “Amazon”, she says that it is called “Beside Me”. “It's a love story with a little bit of mystery. It is about true friendship, love and betrayal”, enthusiastically tells Srishti. She also practices her skills to draw. “I mostly like to do pencil shading, but I am also trying my hand on with pencil colors, oil pastels and water color”, – concludes Srishti Saxena.
