Yerevan State Medical University Department of Hygiene and Ecology Associate Professor Armen Mkrtchyan visited the University of Málaga within the framework of the Erasmus TransFront EU program for teaching staff, held on May 11–15, 2026, with the purpose of delivering lectures at the Departments of Pharmacy and Pediatrics.
He delivered four lectures, during which he presented a number of current nutrition-related issues to approximately 200 future physicians, nurses, and athletes.
At the initiative of the host institution, meetings were also held with the department’s academic staff. During these meetings, the recent achievements of YSMU, areas of scientific interest, and several published works were presented. A number of potential cooperation projects were also discussed.
The purpose of visiting two educational laboratories was to study student involvement in anthropometric and indirect calorimetry research.
Armen Mkrtchyan brought with him several electronic tools used at the University of Málaga for nutrition-related studies. After localization and adaptation, these tools will be incorporated into the educational program of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology in the next academic year.
Considering the visit successful and important, Armen Mkrtchyan is hopeful that it will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
