Professor Mikhail Aghajanov, an outstanding doctor and scientist, long-time Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Yerevan State Medical University, has passed away.
For decades, his image as a doctor and scientist was a role model for the teaching staff and numerous graduates of the Medical University.
He harmoniously combined the wisdom of his years and youthful energy, colossal experience and hard work.
A respected representative of the older generation, the patriarch of medicine created a special atmosphere with his presence at meetings of the Rectorate and the Scientific Council, during various University events and discussions, and in the Disciplinary Commission, which he headed.
Mikhail Aghajanov graduated from the Medical University in 1963, six decades ago, and never lost touch with his native educational institution, raising generations, making his contribution to the development of domestic medicine. The long-time Head of the Department of Biochemistry at YSMU dedicated his entire life to science, in particular, to the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
His work was always highly appreciated both at the University and at various international scientific platforms.
