Within the framework of the interuniversity project and the international credit mobility project of the Erasmus + programs, the representatives of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society of Germany presented their experience of transition from the specialty “Nursing Care” and “Obstetrics ” to a bachelor’s degree, which, after successful development, is planned to be implemented at YSMU College. German colleagues: Professor Elena Dahlem, Cordula Fischer, coordinators of the practice of the Paediatrics program,
Professor Michaela Michel-Schuldt, Ph.D. and nurse -scientist Profesoor Ester Berkemer, had the opportunity to visit the Mikaelian and Heratsi University hospitals, the Simulation Training Centre, got acquainted with the work of nurses, as well as with where YSMU college students acquire their practical skills. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, it is also planned to implement a new capacity-building project that will contribute to obtaining a bachelor’s degree in higher education in these two disciplines at YSMU College. It should be noted that foreign partners have also applied for funding to the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and are awaiting approval to organize mutual visits of German and Armenian nurses.
The above-mentioned cooperation will improve the needs of medical professionals, while at the same time increasing the attractiveness and opportunities for the development of these two core specialties in the healthcare system, since the implementation of academic learning at the bachelor level is essential to bring the learning up to international standards.
