The European Union granted “HR Excellence in Research Award” (Human Resource Strategy for Researchers – HRS4R) to Yerevan State Medical University.
The process of applying for the award coordinated by EURAXESS has started at YSMU within the framework of the ERASMUS+ “Strengthening Research Management and Open Science Capacities of HEIs in Moldova and Armenia (MINERVA)” project implemented during the period of 2019-2023. As a result of long and persistent work lasting almost 3 years, a comprehensive analysis of the research environment was carried out, and an action plan for improving the situation was developed for the coming years.
The package of documents submitted by the Medical University has undergone review process as a result whereof the compliance of the research environment of YSMU with the 40 principles established by the European Charter and Code for Researchers was recorded. They mainly concern research freedom, ethical and professional aspects, admission and engagement mechanisms, working conditions, professional training, etc.
HRS4R supports research institutions to adopt the 40 principles set out in the European Charter and Code for Researchers in their practices and through their implementation to continuously develop research activities, as well as to ensure its transparency and credibility.
The abovementioned award entitles the Medical University to use the HR logo in research-related information materials.
Through its EURAXESS electronic platform, YSMU is also given the opportunity to inform the international scientific and educational community about its scientific research activities, scientific vacancies, grant programs, organization of scientific events.
By obtaining this award, the Medical University becomes more attractive not only for Armenian, but also for foreign researchers and strengthens its position in the EU scientific and educational area.
