UCLA and YSMU Co-Host International Conference on Medical Ethics

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU), in collaboration with the International Healthcare Organization (IHO), continue to strengthen their partnership through a new joint online conference. This time, the focus of the event was Medical Ethics.

The virtual conference brought together speakers and participants from YSMU Career Development Center’s Cardiology Society, as well as representatives from several leading institutions, including Brown University, the State University of Bangladesh (SUB), Al-Azhar University (Gaza), and Wellness Capital. The event served as a platform for exploring contemporary ethical challenges in medicine through the lens of international expertise.

This was the second joint initiative between UCLA and YSMU, following their first collaboration in May 2024, which focused on tobacco use prevention.

Throughout the conference, participants addressed key topics such as patient autonomy, informed consent, and the impact of emerging technologies on medical decision-making.
