The education at YSMU is at par with other leading medical institutions of the world. This is the opinion of the university alumna Gurpreet Kaur.
“Now I can proudly say that I’m Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, thanks to YSMU for giving me this prefix to my name. Becoming a good doctor was my childhood dream and my family has played a big role in it”, she tells.
The Indian graduate found out about YSMU from brochure. “Henceforth I enquired about YSMU from multiple people and through the internet I found that YSMU creates unique atmosphere, which provides balance between study and recreation, which is important for a sound mind”, Gurpreet emphasizes.
Consistency, according to her, is a key to making lasting sustainable progress in any area of life.
To her junior colleagues she advises: “Don't mug up things and try to build up your concepts. Medicine is very vast and rigorous. It always feels like you're left with too much of syllabus just believe yourself and stay motivated. Be like stem cell, differentiate yourself from others”.
Becoming a doctor was also a childhood dream for another YSMU alumna – Vandana Anil. “My goal was certain, but the path to it was uncertain. My seniors and my parents together got me enrolled into this platform. YSMU truly is one of the best platforms to nurture aspiring doctors. It provides you with the best opportunities to build your dreams. It feels nostalgic to look back at this beautiful and eventful 6 years journey”, she says.
Vandana advises to future doctors to spend more time to improve the uncertain portion. “Use time wisely. Be stress free, just give your best”, she adds․
