Future endocrinologist Dinesh Raja is a graduate of the Faculty of General Medicine of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi.
He was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
The decision of 23-year-old Dinesh to become a doctor was initially conditioned by the desire to have a beautiful car. “I was in my 8th grade and used to have a viewpoint outside the classroom, where I have view of the “Kuppusamy Naidu Hospital”. There used to be a doctor who was coming by his violet color beautiful car. I literally fell in love with that car and wanted to be a doctor and go by the same car in the future. So it was that car which gave me a spark. However, I took the decision of becoming a doctor seriously after my 10th standard state public exam. Later it became my dream, and I haven’t had second thoughts to change the medical profession”, he tells.
To Dinesh Armenia is a second homeland as all his Indian friends describe it. “Throughout my 6 years’ journey at YSMU, I have not just learned the medical education, but also several valuable life lessons: cooking; living alone and handling different, difficult circumstances; managing our accounts; self development; and so many other things. Armenian people were so kind to me so far, I have many Armenian friends who all have been very helpful and nice to me in different circumstances”, he adds.
Dinesh dreams of becoming an endocrinologist. “The inspiration to this field is truly because of the increasing trend in metabolic disorders in India, importantly Diabetes Mellitus. After my graduation, I have to take the licensing exam in India, hopefully I will be able to crack the exam FMGE and become a general physician in India”, he notes.
According to Dinesh, it is always important for any physician to be very strong, determined and to have clear thoughts for providing better health to the people. “To be a good doctor you should be prepared for the worse to handle any kind of situations. You should be honest and humble. I don’t think I’ll be able to provide advices, since I have just completed my medical school and have to go through a lot in the journey as a physician. Perhaps I would just say to show full interest, have passion in learning new things, be determined in what you want and, most importantly, stay healthy for you to provide better healthcare services to the society. My best wishes to you all budding real-time heroes. Enjoy the process as a Doctor”, he concludes.
