During the 2020-2021 academic year YSMU International Students' Council organized various tournaments in Kabaddi, football, volleyball and Badminton for the foreign students.
The winners and runners of all the sports events were awarded with certificates and trophies by the President of Students' Parliament Tigran Aleksanyan, the President of International Students' Council Siva Shakthi Veeraswamy and the Deputy Head of Students’ Parliament Edgar Dehbashian.
Siva Shakthi Veeraswamy briefly spoke about the role of Council in organizing the sports events and thanked the Students' Parliament for their tremendous support to all the events proposed by his Council. Tigran Aleksanyan in his speech emphasized the importance of sports in the life of medical students. He appreciated International Students' Council for their great efforts in organizing the tournaments. He also ensured his support for the future events. “We give so much significance to such kind of event because sport is undivided part of human health and health care in general. We are so happy to see your involvement in these programs and hope to see it in the future. Now I would like to say special thank you to Siva. He've done incredible job during this semester: he put such great effort and passion to the Council”, he noted.
Edgar Dehbashian in his speech congratulated the winners of all the sports events and appreciated the students for their active involvement.
